My son is 4 turning 5 next month & his poos have always been up and down.. either very mushy and lots of them a day or constipated. The last week or 2 he’s started having very mushy or runny poos.. leading to soiling his undies or nappy. He will not poo on the toilet, only in his nappy at home. Although his childcare teacher has said he’s done poos in the toilet there but he seems to take a while. He’s never soiled as much as he has now, it’s almost like he can’t control it. It also smells very bad, almost like chlorine? he woke up tonight crying in pain, I think he had stomach pains. I’m wondering if this sounds like typical impaction & what I should do from here? I have him booked in to see the GP & also thinking of taking him to a clinic that help with soiling and constipation. Is there anything I can do in the meantime as I feel helpless and like a horrible mother. I hate seeing him suffer and him soiling as much as he is at daycare. He does get embarrassed by it. Any advice would be great :(
