Sudden groin pain

DS 8 was playing with DD 6 in the pool earlier when all of a sudden he had a sharp pain in his balls stop for about a minute and then started playing again. It’s happened twice tonight I’m not sure if DD accidentally hit him there or what

we have had a look and it all looks normal down there. His wee colour is bright yellow. He’s not had a poo in 4 days and is very constipated and is on movicol.

they are back playing away now and all seems fine but I’m wondering if it’s happened others? What it could be? He has been trying to force a poo earlier today cause he had pains but nothing came out. Could it be just an stain

I’d be really concerned about testicular torsion which is a medical emergency.

Id be calling 111 at the least and a and e if at all possible.

My first thought is likewise testicular torsion, and that is a surgical emergency.

Paediatric nurse here, absolutely needs to get checked out for a torsion. It is a surgical emergency. It may well not be anything. But the testicle is at risk of death if it’s genuinely twisted. Off you pop to A&E. Go to a children’s hospital if you have one near by.

Are you the testies the same height as each other? Also if you stroke the inside of his leg each side like below if they go up like the picture, it can be a good indication if there is something like torsion there. PS we learned this from our DS who gets pain down there a lot

His testicles look the same both when he’s stood up and laying down. They both go up with that test. He’s not got any pain now either. We don’t have 111 here he seems pretty happy again he did say DD did land on him earlier in the day
