hello, poo pic
Can anyone tell me if this poo is normal
for a 5 month old? My little girl suffers quite badly with eczema and itchy skin constantly. We’ve tried so many creams from the GP and they have just prescribed stronger steroid cream for her and more antihistamines.
my son had a milk allergy and was put on SMA Althera but I can’t remember what his poos were like.
I have asked for a an allergy test numerous time but always told no, she will grow out of it by the time she’s one.

That looks more like a teething poo to me

Hello, so she was on Althera milk
but now her poos look like this and they stink!! Sorry for the photo, but can you see it’s got stringy bits in it?? What is that, should I be worried! I would say her eczema has slightly improved

She might be still reacting to the dairy in the formula. Althera is one of the extensively hydrolysed formulas so it's still dairy based but the proteins have been broken down which is enough for some babies to not recognise it as dairy..

On the poo front i absolutely could not distinguish the difference between my daughters allergy, teething, cold and anxiety poos! We had to go by other symptoms to determine what was the problem

Hello, thank you everyone for the information and advice! So I took her to A&E on Sunday as I just couldn’t stand to see her so uncomfortable, she’s been referred to a eczema specialist. I explained her symptoms again to the GP and they prescribed her another type of milk which has no dairy in at all.
shes been on the milk since Tuesday evening and wow what a difference! No itching today and she’s only had one poo that actually looked like a normal poo! I have given her a bath today so we will see what her skin is like tomorrow but so far so good! This will be the 9th time I’ve taken/spoken to the GP, it’s been a long process but hopefully we’ve found the reason for all the itching. Just wanted to write this incase anyone is in a similar situation
