Ds has been complaining about an itchy groin that’s red, irritated and scaly skin. Could this be jock itch, would sudocrem be handy?

What age?
Might need antifungal cream

When i had a similar issue I was prescribed a combined antifungal/hydrocortisone cream and told to dry properly after washing.
Maybe ask the pharmacist or see a GP

BertieBotts · 26/06/2025 22:21

I think you need more than sudocrem. Agree ask a pharmacist and make a GP appointment.

BumblingBird · 26/06/2025 22:26

Thanks both, yeah I’ll book a GP appointment tomorrow. He told me today was painful because he felt itchy but was at school all day, said it’s been itchy for a week

That could take many months to shift. Fungal things are murder in the warm weather Im dark damp sweaty places.

@BumblingBird think the general term is Intertrigo. Happens in sweaty folds of the skin. Don't think it was helped by me being perimenopausal and going to sports classes a lot and maybe not drying properly after showering

Thank you, he does have a full wash every two days, maybe I should make it once a day instead?
