Sonโ€™s AST is elevated - advice please ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

My son is 4.5 yo, 16.5kgs, 105cm tall, generally well but elevated AST level.

I had my son's blood tested in April mainly as he was low energy. He had low iron but also mildly raised AST - 40 (upper limit 35). He had virus at the time and had been coughing for weeks at that point. I reasoned that it was caused by this. All his other liver markers, blood count etc were fine (although iron was low as suspected).
I've had him retested this week and his AST level is 44. He was super active the day before (soccer game and trampolining etc).

I'm worried, but my GP doesn't seem super concerned. My son is perfectly fine within himself, he's got some issues with a slightly turned in femur but this is being looked after by a physio.

I have an appointment with a paediatrician in a couple of weeks. Has anyone experience anything similar with their children?

For a number of labs thatโ€™s within or only just above the normal range. AST levels often fluctuate. I wouldnโ€™t worry and particularly if your GP isnโ€™t. Is there an underlying reason for the blood tests if you have a fit and sporty child?

Thank you. I took him originally because he was low energy and lethargic - his iron was low and thatโ€™s now sorted but it unveiled this.

Thanks for your help xo
