Hi all. My LO has chicken pox. My younger child had them 2 weeks ago but no way near as bad. They seem very big and yellow and he’s had them for 4 days. Or am I being over the top and they are just normal?

I can’t really see if they are infected or not. Are you using calamine lotion? I think I would try sudocrem & just gently dabbed on.

I can't help re whether they're infected. Are you putting Poxclin on? This can make a big difference to comfort.

Calamine is no longer recommended because although it feels soothing as it goes on, once dry it irritates further.

We're in depths of chicken pox also!

my DS has an infected one and it's got a red ring surrounding the spot.

I found keeping the spots moist helped reduce itching and scarring. So using soothing creams and bicarb baths.

You don’t want to dry them up. Soft yellow top is fine.
