Its 4am nearly, and I'm panicking with anxiety, I just randomly found a lump in my DD's lower belly while she is asleep, its Saturday today now, i have a funeral on Monday so i cant get her to doctors until Tuesday. And i am so scared of what it might be, google has freaked me out. And I'm now going to be in this state until i do see GP. Please help calm me down

Constipation? A lump of poo is probably one of the most common lumps for a child.

Lower belly, especially if it's on toddler's left does sound like poo is very likely. I'm not saying don't get it checked as you're clearly worried and so getting advice is of course sensible, but please be reassured that a bit of firm constipated poo is highly likely.

Yes hernia or poo seem most likely. Any pain/discomfort?

Agree I would get a out of hours appointment (incase it’s uncomfortable for your dc) either ring 111 or if you ring your gp thet may have a ooh number to ring

Thank you for your message, so i got an OOH appointment, they had a feel, but she had had a pooh since and they couldnt feel the lump, so saying it probably was constipation, but to come back if she hasnt pooed in two days and the lump is back so they can check and make sure it isnt a hernia, but its positive and i am sooo relieved ☺️

I think it was poo, the out of hours doctor at UTC couldnt feel anything and she had had a poo, so i am very relieved, will have to go back if she doesnt poo for two days and if the lump is back, just to make sure it isnt a hernia, but i am definitely going to sleep well tonight
