My just turned two year old is constantly ill. It feels never ending! Here’s a list of the top of my head

  1. Conjunctivitis – Several episodes 2. Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease – 2/3 times 3. Chickenpox 4. Sick Bug-twice 5. Ear Infection 6. Slapped Cheek Syndrome 7. Colds/Upper Respiratory Infections – Numerous times Plus they also have an intolerance that presents with spots and diarrhoea. The thing is, this child lives on fruits and vegetables too. Will actively steal broccoli off our plates to get more so you’d have thought it would help them out in this area 🙈 What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. You're exposing him to other kids and those is what happens

All those illnesses on your list are highly contagious and 2 year olds touch and lick everything

OtterMummy2024 · 19/06/2025 20:36

Since starting nursery eight months ago, going one day a week (!!!)
Ear infection
Norovirus
Rotavirus
Three other stomach bugs
RSV bronchiolitis
COVID
Hand foot and mouth
Lots of other colds.

Like @Shouldbedoing says, unavoidable when mixing with other toddlers, super contagious.

Your child will have brilliant attendance when they start school!! Think of the immunity they are building now!! Some children miss loads of school in the early years but yours won’t!
