Hello,

I am just looking to get advice from anyone who cleared their child’s how to treat Perianal streptococcal dermatitis aka perianal strep?

I am pretty sure my 4 year old has it and when took him to the Dr yesterday he had know idea what the rash on his bottom was. I think it won’t be easy to get a diagnosis or treatment and want to make sure they give me the right one from the start.

Any advice please only from people who are familiar with experiencing it in their children please and not how it was treated. Thank you!

DS had it- very painful. It took an online GP who said I think it’s XX. We ended up going to a private paediatric urgent care (The Portland) and they did a swab of it to test for strep. It had been dismissed as a fungal infection before.
