15 year old son rang to be picked up yesterday as hurt shoulder badly after fall playing football. Says was collarbone that hurt
Took pain killers rested, seemed fine but happier with arm straight by side it holding it up as in sling.
No swelling or bruising.
Woke up this morning, still sore. Hurts raising arms.
I am at work, husband not wanting to take him to a and e but I think better to at least rule out fractured collar bone.
what do you think?

Get it x-rayed.

My husband went over his handlebars and broke his collarbone. Was advised to not bother with surgery, which can be complex due to location. They said it would heal without. He is however, quite disfigured with an ugly protrusion.

So, I wouldn’t leave it.

A and E for any injury that could have broken a bone.
My mum fractured two vertebrae after a fall down the stairs and it took everyone by surprise. Her wrist which was causing her more bother wasn't broken.
An x ray is the only way to determine a bone is broken or not and collar bone fractures can be nasty to heal it's best to get checked over

Thanks - he took him and it was broken
