Mums! Please help.
My little one has non IgE cmpa. Hes 7 months.
At about 4 months we did the formula challenge. We thought it was successful because basically whilst on amino acid formula, his symptoms didn’t change. He still screamed all the time, reflux, sick all the time and constipated.
So we think the reason nothing changed was the famous colic. However since he had the taste of normal formula, I cannot get him back on hypoallergenic.
We got so far as half normal, half hypoallergenic in a bottle. But he absolutely screamed at each feeding so we stopped. It was distressing for everyone.
Anyway about 6 months ago, i switched from normal Kendamil to Kendamil comfort in desperation. This helped the sickness quite a lot but all other symptoms still present.
He has now developed a feeding aversion since starting weaning. He will only drink 1/2oz at each feeding during the day and primarily has the bulk of his milk when he is half asleep/ drowsy throughout the night.
He is still super constipated, cant put him down for more than a few minutes without screaming. Delayed in physical development as he just cant tolerate floor time.
He is on lansoprazole, which I dont think makes a difference but anyway.
So about 1.5 half into weaning, as we have introduced more foods and repeated them he has started to come up with rashes on his face and becomes unsettled. Can’t figure out the trigger. But we are now on day 2 of refusing solids.
There is no concern about dehydration as he is drinking enough to stay hydrated. But my poor baby!
We have tried swapping 1oz at a time, multiple different formulas, vanilla essence alcohol free.
The GP is about as useful as a chocolate teapot, health visitor was helpful but seems to have got bored. On a long waiting list for peads.
Dietician, who i have only spoken to over the phone has now said to try another formula. Which i know he isn’t likely to take.
Nobody seems to give a cr*p as he hasn’t dropped any percentiles. But im sooo broken with all of this.
Sorry for the essay!!!!
