Is my toddler sick?

So I have severe emetophobia… I have a 2.5 year old who was just playing in the garden and was sick a little bit. I am now spiralling thinking has he got a bug… I’ve been working out where we’ve been the last 48 hours and can’t put my finger on anywhere that he may have picked up a bug. I think what I’m trying to ask is have your little ones ever been sick a very small amount and been okay? Or does that then turn into a full blown sickness bug? I assumed if it was a bug he would have been projectile and a lot. So sorry if this is too much information just looking for some reassurance. Mother hood does crazy things to you doesn’t it!

It’s impossible to say, only time will tell.

Hi @LucyLu2021 my DC would sometimes be a little bit sick and then nothing more would happen. Had your child eaten before being sick? Were they running about a lot? It may be a case of wait and see if it happens again, but fingers crossed for you it doesn’t. The joys of children, eh!

I have emet also so I know where your brain is at right now. My 3.5yo DD has been sick on multiple occasions in the past where it hasn’t been a bug but she has also had 3 sickness bugs as well. What I will say is regardless you will cope and you are stronger than you think. I have surprised myself on so many occasions with my DD and as much as I’m Terrified and end up on a horrible countdown spiral afterwards we always come out the other side and re set. Sending you lots of support x

Thank you so much for your response it’s so reassuring to hear of others with this horrible phobia although I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone! Little one hasn’t been unwell since, it was over three hours ago now so I’m thinking (praying!) that if it was a bug he would have been sick again by now. The joys of motherhood hey!

The joys indeed! He had eaten his dinner then went to play in the garden so wonder if it maybe wasn’t sitting right. He hasn’t been unwell since and it’s been over three hours now so I’m hoping that’s a good sign! I don’t think I will be able to relax until the morning and like you say just see what happens 😩🙏

How is little one? I have emet too so feel your pain. My 2.5 year old was randomly sick on Friday then has had a fever and upset stomach since Saturday. I'm spiraling waiting for the period to be over of when I could catch it. Hope you are ok.
