Help! Anyone had a similar blood test before? APTT?

So my child has multiple food and environmental allergies, asthma, eczema, is hypermobile and is also on iron supplements for an iron deficiency - I feel this could be relevant? He’s always been very pale, and used to be very tired, napping till he was gone 4, 12-13 hour sleeps at night, bad growing and joint pain, and has had blood tests in the past which just show he’s iron deficient and hypermobile. He is very slim but he is following the 25th centile well. In the last year I would say he seems to have got lots more energy, sleeps less, looks healthier etc but he does sometimes get quite nasty bruises. His last blood test was in October 24 where we were told we just needed to continue his iron medication, but he has a nasty bruise come up the other week and I thought maybe he needs them checked again. Anyway, his APTT has come back as 40 which the doctor said is higher than normal for a 6 year old (he’s just turned 6). It’s being investigated and she said ‘not to worry’ but of course I’m worrying! I suffer bad health anxiety from everything we’ve been through and am so nervous about this could mean. Has anyone been through something similar? Thank you x

Unless there is a history of specific clotting disorders eg haemophilia in the family, or significant major bleeds in the child, this is much more likely to turn out to be an incidental finding than something really frightening. Sometimes the "normal" ranges issued by labs aren't the same as the reference ones used for different ages of child. Your GP can refer to paediatricians / haematology for advice if there is uncertainty.
