My baby is 3 weeks old and has been drinking cow and gate since birth but since week 2 hes very constipated. Doctors prescribed lactulose and i gave him a few times but don't want my baby to depend on it. Hes does poo every 2 days but since the last two days hes had a more upset stomach and you can tell hes in pain. I have a appointment with the HW in a couple of days but wanted your advice aswell. I don't know if i should switch to another brand milk or use cow and gate comfort. I have got gripe water and infacol but not sure what to do.

I am sceptical that the specific milks do very much in these situations. If lactulose works for your baby use that, it's just a softener that holds extra water in the bowel, you can't become dependent on it.

Your right. But if i continue to use the cow and gate milk and he ain't able to poo every day then i will have to use the lactulose everyday for a while. I have seen a few reviews about the cow and gate comfort milk and they say it does help. I would rather change his milk instead of give him medication to help his bowel movements.
