Hi mamas!

My little girl is 10 months old and woke up this morning with a rash, behind her ears, on her face, stomach and top of the neck. I called 111 and went to A&E, they first mentioned measles and sent us to an urgent care centre to be seen quicker. The doctor who had Google up on her screen with rashes, said it’s viral and should go away within 5 days. Has anyone else experienced this sort of „viral rash” with their little ones? It’s bugging me a little that the doctor was seeking advice from Google and I’m just looking for some reassurance really 🥹.

Has she been unwell recently? Viral rash is really very common after having a mild viral illness such as a cold, ear or throat infection. They can have various non specific appearances and come and go for a few days.
we don't see measles very often so its not abnormal for the doctor to double check what it looks like and the other symptoms I've been a children's a&e nurse for nearly 20years and still look things up

DD used to get viral rash, it looked much like hives or nettle rash. It also used to move around. It also didn’t always accompany a bad illness, sometimes something small could set it off

Thank you for replying. She had a temperature out of no where on Tuesday night. Apart from that she’s been fine in herself. I tried uploading a picture but it’s under review.

It could be, looks similar to one my daughter had when she was a baby. How is she now?
