Found a lump down there

My son found a lump in his balls over the weekend we’ve been to the GP today and they have sent him for urgent scan and bloods. I’m worried sick about the worst it could be! I’m thinking the absolute worst

It could be a cyst? My son has had them before and they are usually harmless. How old is he?

He’s 13! The GP wasn’t to sure what it was if I’m honest they didn’t fill us with confidence. The lump is on one of his tubes leading to his balls. They’ve also got us worried as his balls are smaller than they should for his age. Trying desperately not to google

if his balls are small I don’t think that’s necessarily a cause for concern as they will grow with puberty, it could be that he is just a late bloomer, unless of course they are really small. Is he in any pain? How did you find out?

Just for a bit of reassurance- my partner recently discovered sore lump on one of his testes. GP referred him for a scan and it turns out one of the little ducts inside twisted on itself. As it wasn't massively painful it's been decided to leave it for now. It could affect fertility which doesn't bother my partner. Just wanted to let you know it can be several things so not to worry too much (i know you will). It's good your son told you, it definitely needs checking out.

My son had this at 16, it was a blocked sperm duct, it went away by itself x

Mine too @Letmehaveabloodyusernameplease. Blocked sperm duct. Get it checked but try not to worry

We had the scan today, but we hope to get the results in the next 5-10 working days. He has been getting some intermittent pain, too. His bloods show no infection

I hope the scan results are encouraging. The waiting is hard.
