Two vomiting bugs in a month- anyone else?

Hi all,
Little girl 4 has had 2 vomiting bugs in the last month. Both times she vomited a few times during the night but came back to herself within the next 12 hours. She has been absolutely fine between the two bugs. Has anyone else experienced 2 stomach bugs in a month or should I be concerned? Thanks all!

How far apart were they exactly and did anyone else in the house get sick either time?

Honestly…no. Touch wood my dc would rarely get them, maybe one every 1and a half years. Is she washing her hand before eating? Do you have pets? I wouldn’t be overly concerned but would keep an eye on what she’s up to I suppose

They were nearly 4 weeks apart. Nobody else got sick at the same time but I did feel a bit iffy a few days later. She is our only child, but I'm 35 weeks pregnant at the moment also. I'm also a primary school teacher so feel I could be bringing bugs home from school!

Probably need to police the hand washing a bit better alright! We don't have any pets no. She has taken to drinking from my water bottle so probably need to stop that also just in case!

She's not catching it from you if you're not symptomatic with vomit and diarrhea yourself, that's not how tummy bugs work fortunately.

If it was closer together maybe within a week or so I'd have said it could be a reoccurrence of the same bug as little tummies can be sensitive for a while after stomach bugs especially with dairy but 4wks apart is a bit too long for that scenario.

It is possible it's been two separate bugs but usually after catching a stomach bug you have a few months of immunity to that particular strain. The fact that no one else caught the bug is a possible indication that it's not a bug causing the symptoms but something else. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your reply! Yes that's true, definitely does run its course like a bug though. I wonder if it possible it could be two different strains of tummy bug...will keep an eye anyway!

Three in four weeks for us since 4th April, each distinct. Waiting for virology and bacterial tests results back from the GP because she agreed that three is unusual. But there also seems to be a LOT going around :/

Yep, same baby and not even at nursery. Pretty sure the second bug was picked up at an airport but no idea about #1 or #3. Bug #2 made me and DP violently sick, #3 made DP sick again, so definitely infectious rather than allergies :/

Oh god, just a bad run of bugs I would say!

I just checked my daughter's temp there and it's 39...so think this may be a virus. Husband has had sore throat/cough all week so possibly querying COVID now...the joys!
