DLA renewal

Can anybody please help me, my son's DLA claim ended yesterday as it's his 5th birthday today. He has been receiving middle rate care. I sent in the renewal form and rang to check they had definitely received it (they confirmed they had got it) today I have received a payment of £147.80, the last payment was received on 22nd April. Does that mean his claim hasn't been renewed? My anxiety is through the roof at the thought of having to wait until Tuesday to ring them. Thank you

It's a final 2 week payment, which often means that the renewal wasn't sorted by DWP early enough so the payment was processed (which would have been around 5 days before the end of the award I've been told). They often do the renewals the day they end so try not to panic as it may well have been processed yesterday Smile

Oh really? Thank you, that makes me feel better. I rang on Tuesday and she said it hadn't been looked at yet so that makes sense about the payment. This is his first renewal so not really sure how it all works 🤷‍♀️

Hey,

I have done DLA renewal, I have been told a decision was made on the 20th but cant tell me what it is. His ended on the 27th when I recieved a 3 week payment. Is the payment a bad sign with the decision being made on the 20th? Would appreciate any advice please.

Did you speak to them, what has happened since 😊

Hi yes I did speak to them, you were right. They have a massive back log at the moment so hadn't got round to looking at it yet so that was the final payment for that award. He's been awarded high rate care and high rate mobility until 2032 😊
