Oral thrush on a Sunday

After stabbing pains in both boobs in the early hours, followed by lots of googling then checking DD’s mouth when she woke, I’m convinced she has oral thrush.

Struggling to get past mortified and devastated at the minute! Feel like I’ve let her down but also means I can’t store breastmilk so going to have to think about formula. Which might work out well timing wise as she’s going to nursery in a month when I go back to work.

Anyway apart from me taking paracetamol for the stabbing pains is there anything I can give DD before I call the docs tomorrow? She’s been fussy for a while and her latch has been worse than normal but put it down to teething. Would abesol help with the soreness when feeding perhaps?

Also any tips to get her to take formula. Has been a bottle refuser and whenever I’ve tried formula as well it’s not gone down well.

I had this at the beginning of breastfeeding, total nightmare, SO painful! No tips, hope you get better soon.

Re formula - how old is she ? Could you go directly to whole milk?

Ah the beginning, my baby would only take a bottle from DP not me (could smell my milk!). Other options are a cup rather than a bottle. And nursery are very good at getting babies to eat and drink in new ways, and I think the peer pressure of seeing other babies eating/drinking that way helps!

She’s nearly 6.5 months so only in early stages of blw. Going to try partner with bottle and me out of the house tomorrow with expressed milk and then see if we can transition.

Think I’ll just go with Calpol until we can get in at the docs. Always something at the minute, teeth rumbling (none cut yet), cold and now this. These are all the things no one warned me of as a new mum 😣
