UTI?

First week of potty training and this is in DD's urine. Is this a sign of an infection?

I'm concerned as the first few days she did hold her urine in for hours at a time but we did keep her hydrated and she's been using the potty consistently for a few days now.

No other symptoms. Even through private insurance i cant get a GP appointment until tomorrow afternoon so thought I would ask. Thank you!

I would definitely get that checked out OP, I've suffered with UTI's for years and the worst one had flecks of blood in it. It might not be that but it could be a sign of another infection, hopefully it's nothing!

Thank you, I am a bit concerned though thankfully she doesn't seem to have any other symptoms. I'm going to keep a close eye on her until the appointment tomorrow.

I'm actually overthinking now and getting really worried. She did keep going to the potty for wees all day, sometimes just having a trickle. I thought it was the novelty of using the potty and wanting to go anytime she felt a slight urge to avoid wetting herself (as well as not being patient enough to sit on it until fully done) but now I'm wondering if it's because of a UTI.

I feel so negligent not seeking further help today :(

The wee was very clear and not smelly, nd she didn't seem in pain so I then forgot all about it. Subsequent wees were smaller so the specks were much fewer.

Argh I don't know. Should I call 111 now? Will it be OK to wait til morning? She's sleeping peacefully now, no temperature.

Any opinions welcome.

I would say if she's physically not showing symptoms as in temperature, pain when weeing and general signs of being uncomfortable, then you've got the GP appointment. But if you're really worried then call 111 and get advice because I know from experience the symptoms can come on suddenly and intensely. The main thing with a UTI is if it's left untreated it can cause kidney infections so with it being a small child who cant properly communicate how she's physically feeling I would call 111 and just see what they recommend x

The first thing she said when she woke this morning is that her tummy hurt and she was holding her lower belly. Still really happy in herself and she only mentioned her tummy once but I called 111 and we were given an OoO GP appointment. He took one look at the sample and already said it didn't look great. It did indeed test positive for a UTI.

So thank you so much @lilToad it's your message yesterday that made me pay attention to it again. Otherwise we might only have known in a couple of days when she would have developed a really high temperature.
