Weird bump on 3yo’s leg - WWYD?

Hi all, just after a bit of advice really.

My 3yo has this weird little bump on his leg (sort of on his shin, just below the knee). I only noticed it this morning when getting him dressed. It’s maybe the size of a marble, under the skin, not red or anything but he says it hurts a bit when I touch it. He’s walking fine on it though and no fever or anything like that.

I’ve managed to get a GP appointment but it’s not until Friday afternoon, and now of course I’m sitting here wondering if I should be more worried and take him to A&E. DH reckons it’s probably nothing and fine to wait, but I’m a bit twitchy about it now.

Would you wait for the GP or head to A&E to be on the safe side? Feel like I don’t want to be that parent clogging up A&E for no reason but also don’t want to ignore something I shouldn’t.

WWYD?

Wait for the GP. It’s neither an accident nor or an emergency.

Yeah you’re probably right — I keep telling myself it’s not an accident and it’s not an emergency so technically doesn’t belong at A&E. He’s fine in himself, eating, playing, running about like usual. Just my brain going into overdrive I think! Will keep the GP appointment for Friday and keep an eye on it in the meantime. Thanks!

My DH had one, as does one of my DS’s. I think it’s noted on DS’s medical records as “weird bump. Dad also has one”

Meant to add, for both of them it’s just under the kneecap. Right hand leg.
