Usual virus symptoms of cough and cold since Wednesday last week. Saw gp on Friday as first 3 days she was 40+ degrees.

we are now on to day 7 and starting around lunchtime last few days she got a temperature not as bad as previously but between 38-39.

i know nhs advice is to see gp if fever lasts more than 5 days but was told it was viral on Friday and could last 2 weeks.

do I just trust the process and see if it goes past 10 days then take her again?

My 5 year old (and me and the baby!) recently all had a 6-7 day fever thanks to the flu. Horrible.

I wasn't too worried as I could see we were all getting better.

If you're worried, maybe call 111 for advice?

How is your child now? We are going through the same as he had it for 5 days then nothing for two days but it is back again

Yeah all good now thankfully, lasted 8 days in total I’m guessing it was just viral…

hope he feels better soon! x

How long has your child had it for, it took about 7/8 days in total then it went away, they seem to catch stuff every month

We had similar through half the family recently. DS had fevers on and off for the full week- they got less frequent as the week went on. It was a horrible illness tbh. Probably true fly or possibly new strain of covid.
