DD3 Legs hurt after a poo

YorkshireMum28 · 09/04/2025 02:14

My 3 year old cries her legs hurt after she’s been for a poo. She’ll sit on the toilet for around 5 plus minutes then when she stands up after she’s immediately gets back into a squat position upset saying her legs hurt and can I carry her back to the living room. I just thought it was because she’d been balancing up there for so long as the back of her thighs will be a bit red but tonight I said where exactly does it hurt and she pointed to her shins. Should I be concerned?

Maybe get her a stool to pop her feet on and see if it helps?

@YorkshireMum28 Does she have a foot stool? My 4yo DS does the same if he’s been sitting there a while with his legs dangling. Doesn’t happen when he has a step to rest his feet on.

Get her a stool. It’s uncomfortable to sit with legs dangling and no back support.

She has a stool but her feet dont reach it,I’ll go on the hunt for a bigger one!! See if that helps

I'd imagine she's getting reduced circulation from sitting on the loo and then pins and needles when the blood rushes back. Definitely get her something to rest her feet on to take the pressure off her legs.
