My 18 month old was fine when he woke up, then about 11am I noticed a slight rash on his tummy and legs, now the rash is worse and he has a slight temp (38.3) but otherwise is happy and playing, eating and drinking normally.

Don't really want to drag him out the house to see a doctor if not necessary (will obviously make him a GP appointment tomorrow) but just wandered if anyone had any ideas what it might be and whether I should see someone sooner?

His tummy is what it looked like this morning and his arm is what it looks like now. His temperature has come down with calpol

Pics haven't uploaded but it's always safer to contact a doctor or call 111 with children rather than on here

Maybe scarlet fever in which case he needs to see a dr.

I'm guessing you've done the glass test to check it blanches?

Could also be a viral rash.

I find the Alder Hey when to worry about a rash page useful

Yes glass test is fine, thank you for that link!

It looks like the slapped cheek virus rash DS had (no rash on cheeks, it was mostly on his arms and legs). Totally harmless if so, but be wary in case it is scarlet fever
