Raised Capillary hemangioma on baby's back?

At our 8 week olds health visit today, we noticed a slight liquid filled bump under his capillary hemangioma on his back (port-wine stain). It's usually been flat, but this is the first time we noticed the slight swelling.

Made an immediate appointment with the GP, who didn't seem concerned but said to check again at the 2 month check and vaccination appointment in 5 days. I'm a nervous wreck - have some PPA.

Does anyone know if this is a benign condition?
Thank you!

Capillary haemangiomas (not the same thing as port wine stains) usually become larger, redder, and sticking out more over the first few months of a baby's like, and then start to shrink and fade.

My dd had this. I don't think it's worth worrying about unless it's somewhere that might catch on zips etc. So do check with your doctor, but don't panic. My dd's faded away over several years.

My ds has one on his arm, it was very swollen and red but now is very flat and less red, he's an adult now.

Don't they call them strawberry marks? Because they do bulge out, like a strawberry, they're not flat on the skin.

My daughter had one. They’re benign and nothing to worry about. They fade and flatten with time, I promise.

My dd had one behind her ear and the health visitor freaked me out by saying they normally grow so it could push her ear out we will need to keep an eye on it. It didn’t get bigger and went away by itself. I think all you can do is monitor them and I think most go away by themselves.

My son had one on his scalp and it was significantly raised and angry looking. He’s 6 now and it’s gone.

My dd had some. When she was born they were flat areas of almost white skin, over the first few months they went red and bulges. They have now faded and shrunk again after many years.

You're absolutely right! It isn't raised. It's flat. My bad for mixing up the names. It's a flat port-wine stain that had some bulging under it.

Yes! My mistake. Thank you for the clarity. This is a port wine stain with some bulging underneath
