We are due to go on holiday on Saturday, however we spent the day with family who have now informed us that their child has chicken pox!!

My DS has had it when 2, but I’m worried that he might end up with it?

anyone know how likely this is?

I think if they had it very mildly, or under 12 months they are more likely to get it again, but no guarantees that they won't.

Incubation is I think 10-21 days, although IME it's nearly always 14 days.

How bad was his first case?

He should be fine next week anyway as the incubation period for chickenpox is quite long, about 2- 3 weeks.

Thanks.

He had it when he was about 2, had quite a few spots and was unwell.

Dont suppose there’s much I can do about it now. 😩

If he’s already had it and had it fairly badly I wouldn’t worry

I wouldn’t say it was the worst case I’ve seen but he has a few scars from it. Poor thing
