One sided leg pain - please help

My 4yo has intermittently complained about leg ache for maybe 4-6 months but at times we’d go weeks and weeks without any mention of it (even months). he’s probably mentioned it once a week in the last month. more info -

  1. always same leg, and vaguely in the back of thigh area but struggles with identifying where pain is
  2. days and weeks between complaining of leg he is incredibly active
  3. no obvious limp
  4. says it only hurts when he walks/runs
  5. has always had ‘clicky hips’ to me - scanned as newborn and all ok
  6. very flat footed

As it’s one sided I’m really stumped. He’s very active and busy, no feedback from
school to say he’s mentioned it anything there, but this morning he even complained about it just after he woke up.

I googled and can’t seem to rationalise anything, so any experience with this would
be appreciated. I will book a gp app tomorrow.

Could one leg be slightly longer than the other?
