6 week old crying when pooing / passing wind

Hi, for the past couple of weeks my little one cries almost every time she has to poo / fart. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it that she is still learning how to do this and get used to the sensation? I hate listening to her cry for this reason. If it has happened to your little one, do you know why / anything that I can do to help her?

thanks

Yeah it's normal. They don't really know how to control the muscles yet when they're born; it takes time to learn. She'll grow out of it. In the meantime, you can do tummy massage/leg bicycling if she's struggling and otherwise just provide comfort.

Completely normal OP! As a pp said it’s to do with babies still learning to coordinate their muscles. Bicycle legs and tummy massages helped my little one

Ahhh this takes me back almost a year.

My DD (who's 1 in two weeks!) Was exactly this. She didn't even take her first big black poop until day 3 which was a worry for a bit, first couple of months we were juat obsessed with poo. My God, she hated pooping!! And farting. By around 9/10 weeks she was sorted. By about 12 weeks it was quite obvious by the look on her face she had started to enjoy pooping very much 🤣.

Now she's nearly one and poops twice a day at least and again, I'm certain the girl enjoys it. She does a little shivery motions and smiles when she's done 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
