Does scarlet fever reoccur?

My daughter had scarlet fever in December. She was so poorly and was even in the hospital. Now, she seems to be starting out with the same initial symptoms as she had the first time.

The problem is that she hides illness from me and panics about being ill (she’s autistic).

I took her to the doctor today who said that she does have an infection but that she wants me to try and help her shift it without antibiotics first and then have a review on Friday. She says to keep her at home. this is sensible because she had so many at Christmas time.

Anyway im just asking if it’s a thing that tends to reoccur IYE?

As scarlet fever is a bacterial infection, you can catch it more than once. My DD had it twice within a year and I know of others who also had this.

I think this may be one of those things she’s prone to.
