My Dd is covered in a rash from head to toe! She has just stated antibiotics for a urine or kidney infection. Ive already called 111 but she is so itchy. What do I get to put on it, she is so hot. I have also just put some after sun on her arms to try and help they are the worst place

Start with an anti histamine such as piriton, while you’re waiting for 111, if she gets worse. Poor breathing, lip, face swelling, then A and E

Give her some piriton or antihistamine that should help with the itching/rash

Thank you 111 said not to give her anything but my husband is stopping in the shop on the way home and we will give it to her. Thankfully she has no serious symptoms at the moment just as I say the rash and itching

I had that when I was given penicillin for tonsillitis as a teenager. I had a rash all over. ( I'd had penicillin before without a problem.) I vividly remember the soles of my feet being really itchy.
I expect they will tell you not to give give her any more of the medicine and will treat her with something different.
I haven't had penicillin since - it's in my medical notes too.

She has just finished co-amoxiclav and that was fine but they said they needed a differnt antibiotic to clear the infection so now she's on Doxycycline. She was out in the sun yesterday think that might have started the reaction but doenst explain why her tummy and legs have a rash too

The 111 doctor was so rude. He basically said it was an out-of-hours issue and we should just speak to our doctor! We did already try that today but they said they were at capacity! He did say it was most likely from the sun but then backtacked as he said maybe not because of being all over her body.

But they have put her back on the same antibiotic as last week for another week. I hope the antihistamine works soon

Im worried, is it normal for the rash to still be spreading and be really itchy x

Has she been out in the sun again? It sounds like Doxycycline can make you ultrasensitive to sunburn. Googling came up with this "Exposure to sunlight, even for short periods of time, may cause skin rash, itching, redness or other discoloration of the skin, or a severe sunburn."

If 111 are dismissive and you can't get to see a doctor, maybe take her to the chemist's and ask a pharmacist for their opinion?

No she’s been in most of the day. She only left the house this afternoon to collect the others from school.

ive called 111 again my anxiety is bad. She’s lethargic and has a fever again tonight and is really itchy. It was only her arms and face that were exposed Sunday but the rash is now everywhere even belly legs feet none of that was exposed x
