Vomiting for 3 days - hernia issue or stomach bug?

I’ve got myself very panicked about my 3 year old and I just need a sense check. I picked him up from nursery on Thursday afternoon as he had a temperature and was generally under the weather. He vomited that evening shortly after eating but nursery said they’d sent 2 other children home with similar symptoms so I assumed it was a stomach bug. He has been throwing up Friday, Saturday and today shortly after eating and drinking. He’s barely eating anything and he seems to be sick around an hour after eating. Not many wees but he is still drinking and I’m hoping not everything is being thrown up but we do lots of little sips over the day to try and make sure he’s not dehydrated. He also has no fever and hasn’t had one since I collected him from nursery on Thursday and otherwise is his usual self albeit a bit more irritable and tired than normal.

My concern is that he’s been vomiting for 3 days now. The rest of the household have not picked anything up, including his younger sister who goes to the same nursery, and he has an epigastric hernia that looks the same as normal but I’ve googled symptoms and got in a bit of a panic. I fully intend to take him to the GP first thing tomorrow but not sure whether he needs to be seen more urgently than this.

My son had the same last week, started vomiting Monday evening and all through the night until about 6am. Don't eat much Tuesday or Wednesday, then was sick in the night again on Wednesday night and then diarrhoea start Thursday morning, and he went a few times and was sick through to Thursday afternoon about 4pm - it was a double attack! Nothing else after that, started eating on Friday but took the weekend to feel fully back to normal. Had a temp on the Weds/Thurs/Fri as well. We didn't go to the doc but think it was just a nasty bug going round. He is 6 though so a bit different, just wanted to say that we had something similar and he's fully recovered now xx

It doesn't sound unusual or particularly worrying, so if nothing changes I should have thought tomorrow would be fine. However, the hernia is an extra factor, so a call.to 111 could be wise.

Hope he improves soon.

Sounds like my youngest she was being sick from midnight Tuesday until midday Wednesday. Then fine and then Friday started an upset stomach. As you say a double attack!
