Hi, so my 10 month old dd has shingles. Which is super rare in babies but she unfortunately had chicken pox at 8 weeks old so is more likely to contract shingles :-(
... the shingles started 10 days ago and the rash has now started to scab. She's a lot better in the day than she was ...
However, she seems to be in a lot of discomfort still at night- lots of waking up, crying, screaming etc..
I had just got her sleeping in her own room and down to one night feed (she's still breastfeeding so also wants this constantly again for comfort)
Because she's poorly I've just been comforting her as needed- feeding loads through the night, lots of cuddles etc. I've resisted bringing her into bed although I've wanted to!
Shes had a 5 day course of anti virals and the shingles are now in the scabbing phase, I've been giving her calpol (dr said today not to give nurofen!) so is there anything else I could do or anyone have any tips to help soothe her?!
obviously the cuddles and breastfeeding do help but she's so disturbed and uncomfortable wondering if there's anything else I can do for her!
thanks! Xxx
