Any input useful until I find our doctor please. My little one has RSV. 35 days old. He had a little cold like symptoms for 2 days. Doctor explained the process and to keep an eye on his breathing.
Day 3 today no signs of cold. No sneezing or runny nose. Thought he was perfect. For the last 2 hours he is breathing heavily moving his abdomen. But he looks so well otherwise. Captured a video. Any thoughts?
I just realised. I can't post a video. So that's that!

Are you in hospital? If not, I would phone 111 or see an out of hours GP. RSV can cause bronchiolitis. Given the age of your baby, A&E would see you.

Sucking in under the ribs needs A&E, it's a sign of respiratory distress.

Mumoftwo2022 · 01/03/2025 17:27

Too young to take risks I would ring 111 and insist someone sees him.

With RSV I would bring baby in. It can often get worse around day 3 and at that age it's not always obvious when they do need help

Just an update. We went in to the a&e. We have been admitted. Thank you for your replies. 🙏

You did the right thing. It's scary now, but they are very good at looking after babies with RSV. They will err on the side of caution and want to keep your baby until they are totally positive they are well to go home. My LO turned a corner quite quickly after being admitted for RSV. The first night is tough but then it gets better. Look after yourself.

So glad to read your update that you’ve taken him to the hospital. You’re in the right place, I hope he recovers quickly 💐
