Tonsil infection

So a few weeks ago we thought DD6 had a throat infection (there was a big hard white lump in her throat) brought her to out of hours and they said no sign of infection could be a tonsil stone. We were surprised as tonsillitis was rife in her class.

Skip forward 3 weeks and DD is doing the same coughing and throat clearing again. I look in her mouth and there's two massive white lumps. I poked at it, she had a fit of coughing and out they flew. Rang out of hours again (why is it always the weekend this happens?!) and they said bring her in. So doctor looks, says tonsils and throat are all inflamed. Prescribed 5 days of 500mg amoxicillin.

Spoke to pharmacist who said "oh ya that cam happen. Not so much tonsil stones and pus from the infection hardens and it can fall out. Good strong dose of antibiotic and will be gone by tomorrow".

I am frazzled! I never knew this could happen? DD has no tempertaure, no sore throat, not off her food. Anyone else had this happen?
