Hoarse/ croaky voice for weeks in child

My DS who is 6 has had a croaky/hoarse voice for a few weeks now. I think it started mid Jan but then settled and then he has had it again for about 3 weeks. He's had a really bad cough and temp but has since fully recovered from that ans says his throat doesn't hurt but it is obviously croaky. I'm assuming it's the after effects of the viral illness but how long should it take to settle before seeing a GP? I've never known it to last this long. Anyone experienced this?

I would see a GP if it lasts much longer. Might need an ENT referral. For my child it took speech therapy to clear it up as she had developed muscle tension dysphonia after a viral infection but they did scope her to check for any other issues.
