My 12yo has grit under the skin in a couple of places having come off her bike earlier. Any suggestions for removing it?

My DS had a bit of grit under the skin on his knee for a couple of years. It worked its way out. It came to a little bubble then, painlessly, burst and popped out. Better to leave it than dig about.

A long bath might help

Warm bath, then you could use magnesium sulphate paste under a plaster - even a plaster on it's own might lift it out overnight.

If not, just leave it, as the new skin cells grow it will be pushed outwards. Trying to dig it out will cause more trauma to the skin and increase risk of infections.
