Hello,

my daughter, 16 has a spiral fracture on her fibula. She injured it playing football yesterday. We have a virtual appointment with the fracture clinic tomorrow and hopefully will get some more advice! The nurse said today 4-6 weeks in a boot but will obviously get a more definitive answer tomorrow.
Would love to hear anyone else’s experience with these fractures. She has been told to try and bear weight on it as often as possible and use the crutches as an aide!

she has her PE practical gcse in April also which is frustrating

any experience or advice welcome!

I wouldn't be happy with a virtual appointment. I also think recover will be longer.

Thank you!! They’ve called and she needs to be X rayed again in one week to make sure it’s healing correctly. If not it could be surgery. 🤦‍♀️ said to wait for a letter for the X ray… anyone know how long a letter should usually take? I’ll need to book more time off work
