my child had a fight which then got taken further to the police about last week the police came over to our house which we was confused on as the fight has happened over three months ago and their school had handled it when the police was over they mentioned my child and others now have a criminal record and will be referred to something called MASH I’m unsure on what that is I don’t want social workers involved as we had struggles with them in the past I just want to know what MASH (multi agency safeguarding hub) is and what do

MASH are the front door team for your local authority's Children's Services. They'll usually look at the concerns and ask your permission to gather information from the other agencies who work with them (police, health, education, yot etc) and make a recommendation about what level of intervention will be offered next.

Mash will do an assessment of your family and see if you need further support.
