Molluscum

Hi all,

My son age 6 has had molluscum since last summer. They are mostly on his face and have all turned red now and some are scabbing over so clearly his body is now on it and fighting them off. My question for anyone who else has been through this is how long do the red spots last? They have been there for nearly 3 weeks already and they are really starting to look a bit gross and my son has started to notice.

They should fall off imminently (like now to a few days). They look their worst just before they come off so hopefully you're nearly there!

Fingers crossed.. there are a few that have gone but in their place is a red mark left. Do you know how long it takes for that to go?

From what I remember once the middle white gooey bit comes out with the red scab the remaining mark heals like a normal small cut and doesn't cause any issues. But if the white gooey middle doesn't come all the way out it can scab and rescab and faff about.
