What caused your dc eczema?

Three year old has suffered with rough skin for as long as I can remember. Recently she had developed discoid eczema and her scalp also looks flaky.

Would it be worth having an allergy test?

Healthy apart from having constipation (since around 1).

I am thinking both could be dietary??

A change in washing powder triggered DD's

lilyflower1803 · 14/02/2025 23:23

Milk! Try cutting it out if you haven't already, was life changing for my DD and myself who has suffered since birth not knowing the cause!

Winter. He always gets a flare up. Oats in an old sock in the bath .

Hard water. We knew when our water softener wasn't working properly due to state of DCs skin.

So far just steroid creams and antihistamine. And a non steroid for around her eyes called protopic.

I've also bought a special dust mite killing vacuum cleaner and dust mite proof covers for mattress/pillows/duvet, a dust mite repeller plug in and I damp dust using a natural dust mite repellent spray (essential oil based). That is keeping on top of it for now.

We are seeing the paediatrician in a month or so, so will see what he says. She was only diagnosed very recently.

Honestly I think hand foot and mouth triggered my dd's eczema

coxesorangepippin · 16/02/2025 17:34

DD recently began eczema shots, dupixent

I don't want to speak too soon but they appear to be helping

DaffodillDisco · 20/03/2025 21:10

My DD has also just begun dupixent and two injections in we are seeing amazing differences in her skin. Also don’t want to speak too soon but for the first time in her nine years there’s a
real improvement in her skin.
