Sleep talking/fitful sleep?

My 8 year old who was a good sleeper has over the last month started constantly moving around, waking herself
up moving every 30 mins and sleep talking. It’s literally non stop the entire night and she’s tired in the day. She has no memory of it in the morning. Any ideas what it could be? She’s not unwell, no fever and she doesn’t have worms. and so am totally stumped.

Any stress or worries playing on her mind? Any changes in her life recently that she may be processing?

She’s definitely showing lots of stress signs In the day- some tics, ocd behaviours ☹️already on waiting list for camhs but likely to be a year and i can’t afford to see anyone privately ☹️

I would say that's the cause of the frequent waking and bodily twitches during sleep. The lack of sleep will only be perpetuating the stress/anxiety during the day too. It's good that you're on a wait list for CAHM'S but if she's having tics you could ask the GP for a paediatric referral too in case of tourettes.

For right now, you could try novomins children's magnesium gummies, good for nervous system and for sleep. Have you tried teaching her meditation? There are good childrens guided ones on YouTube, you both could do it together before bed time, it won't work after one night it needs to be a routine for at least a week or two.
