6 Month Old MRI

Hi mums,
My 6 month old had a slight turn in his eye and they done an eye test and noticed one of the optic nerves is SLIGHTLY smaller than the other one.
The nurse then said she would like to request an mri for him just to look in further.

Can someone please give me some hope, or explain to me why she wants an MRI done.

My heart's broke x

They just want to make sure what the underlying cause is, just an extra measure, don't borrow trouble op.

My DS has optic nerve hypoplasia (small optic nerves). He had an MRI at around a year old, they did this to check the brain structure. If optic nerve hypoplasia is what they're checking for (in no way do I know if they are or not - just my experience), they may want to do blood tests too to look at growth hormone and genetics.

I know how overwhelming this can feel. I was scared and felt very frustrated not knowing what was happening for what felt like a really long time.

My DS was prescribed glasses at 8 months (short sighted) It took a while to adjust but he's 2 now and it's just normal for us. Apart from that, he has no other issues. If there's anything else you'd like to know let me know x
