Scabies - what to do

Hi everyone

After a few months of mysterious itching and rashes, the doctor finally thinks we should try scabies treatment. Please could someone talk me through what they did with the treatment (apply all over? once a week for 2 weeks?) and what hygiene measures they did to get rid of it? Having been through threadworms multiple times and nits I do believe the devil is in the detail and you do need to put the work in to avoid reinfection. Just to say I suffer from severe health anxiety and am currently battling this so I’d love just no nonsense practical tips on what worked rather than scary stories.

We are applying the cream tomorrow evening - I have two dd who are 9 and 13 who have very long thick hair so my pressing concern is how the hell that small tube of cream will go on their head. And also does it need to go on their face? Gp said chin down but literally everywhere online says put it on everywhere. Help!
