Teen on immunosuppressants for Crohns has developed molluscum rash

My teen ds is on a biologic immunosuppressant for his Crohns and unfortunately he has developed molluscum rash all over his torso. GP has just given him steroids which haven't done anything.

I know there are a few threads here where parents suggest popping the starter spot to get the immune system activated in getting rid of the rash but will this work if a child is immunosuppressed? Any experience/advice?

What medication is he on? Do you have an IBD nurse team to call for help? They are likely to have seen this before.
I definitely would not be popping spots as the risk of infection would concern me.
DS also have Crohns and is on biologics, but what viruses are more risky can depend on the drug type.

He is injecting Adulimumab every two weeks. I have told the IBD nurse and she just said they would document it. No advice offered.

That was not helpful of them! I'm sorry they aren't more useful. From a quick Google it looks like it's a very common virus to pick up due to the drugs. Do you have access to a Dermatologist? Poor boy has enough going on with everything else.

The GP said she would forward photos of his rash to a dermatologist to confirm what it is but I haven't heard back from her yet.
