Diarrhoea in 3yo

Hiya, I'm just looking for practical advice from some experienced mums on how to manage a 3yo with diarrhoea. He's not in nappies anymore and v good with the toilet but obviously he's not getting much warning just now. Do people go back to using nappies? He's happy in himself and playing and still wants to eat, any food I should avoid? Thank you :)

Has he got a tummy bug ? Or is it on going diarrhoea? When dd was almost 4 she had a bug and it was just pure liquid so I did put her back in a nappy until she was better again xx

My daughter gets loose stools due to allergies. Since potty training we pop her back in nappies on days when she has soiled herself more than once in a day. She gets so upset it's easier on her this way.

He doesn't seem to have a tummy bug, he's recovering from a cold but otherwise seems well and no sickness. It's quite firm but frequent and he's not got as much control over it as usual. That sounds like a good idea @Superscientist I might try that for now! Horrible for him I just hope it clears up soon :( xx

It's a good rule of thumb for us. She can have the odd poo that catches her unawares. If she's eaten something she shouldn't have it's much shorter time between I need a poo and need to be on the toilet. She's had a few accidents next to the toilet which is hard on her but at the same time she's 4 and she doesn't like being in nappies during the day. She can understand tummy is poorly when it's happened more than once. We do pull ups so she can still can still use the toilet independently and I have less knickers to clean! Our shower head on our bath reaches the toilet and this the best way we have found for cleaning soiled knickers
