Baby very sensitive to sounds

Hi! So this might be absolutely nothing but I just wanted to get other peoples opinions to see if they’ve experienced something similar so I don’t have to worry. Over the past three or four months, our baby has become incredibly sensitive to loud noises; coughs, sneezes, yawns etc.

I’ve googled it and it does look like some babies go through this phase, but it suggests it’s quite a short one and this seems to just be getting worse and worse - to the extent that we had to leave a baby group today because he cried so much after another baby excitedly screamed at him 😬

Could this be an indication of an issue with this hearing or his ears?

thank you in advance!

Sounds completely normal to me. My DH sneezed in the vicinity of my grandson once and poor grandson jumped out of his skin and no-one could sneeze around him for MONTHS after without him bursting into tears. He's a completely OK 16 year old now!
Obviously keep an eye but I personally don't think I'd be worried.
Oh also I just remembered I screeched (a bit! 😂) when my granddaughter spilt something and she cried, I was mortified I didn't mean to upset her at all it was just a reflex. It's the sudden noises that upset them.
