Newborn fingernails - any ideas?

Hiya,

My two week old has little green bits to the sides of her fingernails. She's not bothered by them and there doesn't appear to be any redness - any ideas what it could be?

Got HV coming today so will ask them but wondered if anyone experienced the same?

Hmm not sure, do you cut / bite them? What did HV say?

My DD had fingernails like this when newborn one turned infected.

Thanks for the replies. HV didn't know what it was and just said to soak them when she has a bath.
She's had her nails cut a couple of times but we haven't bitten them. Haven't noticed her sucking her fingers! Will ask the GP I think :)
