Hi everyone ! my son had 2 spots on his scalp that I noticed on Sunday but had thought they were bites and didn’t give it much thought. However, on Monday I picked him up from playgroup and noticed he had a spot on his neck, when I got him home I took his uniform off and realised he had a number of spots on his belly too , I phoned his teacher to let her know I thought he might have chicken pox , however it’s now Wednesday evening and it doesn’t seem to have spread too badly and he hasn’t cried , just been a little bit itchy in the night . Do you think this looks like chicken pox or maybe something else ?
thanks in advance for your help xx

I would have expected you to see water filled spots before this stage if it was chicken pox. Little blister type spots that then burst and itch like crazy before drying up like the picture.

It doesn’t look like chicken pox to me, but I also don’t know what it looks like it might be. The spots look quite angry with the dark pink ring around them. Possibly bites?

I think it does look like chicken pox. Where else has he got them? On his face at all or not?

It doesn't look like chicken pox to me. It looks more like bites or a reaction.

Unfortunately I think it looks like scabies. There are black marks in the spots and they follow lines and tend to be in pairs.
The itching at night is also a symptom.
I would send a photo to your GP first thing tomorrow to ask for their opinion and some advice.

That’s not CP

I definitely think it looks like pox, it's just spread through our house

Thanks everyone ! I took my son to see the pharmacist this morning and they confirmed it is chicken pox . She said she had heard of a lot of recent cases which have been really quick to scab over .

Oh that’s good to hear it’s not anything too bad OP (I was ready to hang up my Mum badge as I was sure it looked like CP).
Hope he recovers quickly.
