Too much Phlegm flow, cough and Asthma

I am Sameera Deshappriya from Sri Lanka

My youngest daughter aged 6 years old has been suffering with too much Phlegm flow and cough from the age of 2 years till now. Further she is highly vulnerable to Flu and Fever. As a kid she doesn't even get to eat an Ice cream with her friends.

We have been meeting so many doctors and using so many medications to relieve her from this condition. Even now we are using 2 inhalers in long term as a Doctor's advise. But still we cannot see any improvement in her conditions.

If there is anybody in this Forum who has experienced something similar with your kids and found an effective medication and a cure for this condition, it is highly appreciated if you can share your experiences and guide us.

Have they looked at enlarged tonsils and adenoids?

Are you based in the UK? You need a doctor to take a medical history, examine your child, give you some conclusions about where they think things are right now and where they're going. Can be in written form as well.

In the UK you would start by seeing a GP, if there's uncertainty (particularly if you are needing to be seen again and again for the same problems) they will likely refer to a paediatrician in a hospital based outpatient clinic (sometimes can be a long wait for these).

If the potential diagnosis is asthma, she may be old enough to do the "peak flow" test which is often helpful for working out if the diagnosis is correct and if the treatment is working.
