Enlarged adenoids in almost 4 year old

Recently seen ent after about 9 months wait, at point of referral, I would have agreed to the procedure there and the if I was offered. But little one's symptoms improved since, he was snoring loudly, sometimes producing foam in his mouth and regular ear infections, his speech was also not very clear, similar to someone with pinched nose. Now he's improved on all these things, but still snores, not as loudly though, not as many ear infections, speech clearer thankfully. At the appt, Ent said his hearing was fine, X-ray did show enlarged adenoids, doctor said we could wait and see if symptoms continue to improve and if not do procedure. I'm wondering if anyone has child with similar story and still did procedure and what results were? Part of me is thinking perhaps it might be best to do procedure now and hopefully little one's speech and sleep improves right away, rather than wait x amount of months and with slower results? Or take the safe route and wait? I say safe as amy procedure has risks etc...any thoughts?

My dd had her adenoids done at the same time as she had grommets put in. Operation was definitely worth doing for her but mainly because of the hearing issues. Although she did also snore / mouth breath and that stopped which was good. Whole thing was very straightforward and she didn’t have any pain or distress.
